Money left, balance empty: what to do with a stuck deposit

The deposit failed - and the first thought is usually a panicked one: "the casino has grabbed my money". Almost always that is not true. In nine cases out of ten the problem is between you and the bank, and the money either never left at all or comes back automatically.
Let's be honest. A failed deposit has only six typical causes, and five of them have nothing to do with Riobet - they sit with the bank, the network or your settings. We will go through each and what to do about it right now, with no "try again later". Where the money really did leave and the balance is empty, I will also say what to check first.
Cause 1. The bank hit a limit or judged the operation suspicious
The most common scenario, and the casino has nothing to do with it. Your card has a daily transaction limit, and many banks also have a separate policy for transactions that look like gambling. Any one of those thresholds trips and the payment is bounced on the bank's side, before it even reached Riobet.
What to do. Check the card's daily limit in your bank app and raise it if needed. Did not help - do not keep hammering one card. Switch to a method where the bank is not involved: an e-wallet or crypto. That fixes the problem in one deposit, not in a week of messaging the bank.
Cause 2. The 3DS confirmation did not arrive or was not entered
A card payment is confirmed with a 3-D Secure code - the one from the bank's SMS or push. The code did not come, came late, you closed the window or typed it wrong - the operation did not complete. To the bank it is an unfinished payment, to you it is "the deposit failed".
What to do. Repeat the payment and wait for the code without closing the payment page. Check that push or SMS is enabled at the bank and that the number is current - a common trap for anyone who changed phone. If push consistently fails to arrive, switch to a wallet or crypto for now: there, 3DS is not needed at all.
Cause 3. The crypto was sent on the wrong network
Now this one is more serious than the rest, because it cannot be undone. If you deposit in crypto and sent the coins on a network the cashier address does not serve - for example USDT on ERC20 to an address for TRC20 - the transfer went "past" it. The balance will not top up, and the blockchain will not return the funds at the press of a button.
What to do. For the future, an ironclad rule: the network in your wallet must match the network the cashier showed. Before a large transfer, run a small test amount. If the mistake has already happened, write to support (24/7 live chat) with the transaction hash - a miracle may not happen, but logging the case is worth it. A detailed breakdown of networks is in the separate article on a crypto deposit.
Cause 4. The amount did not fit the casino's own limit
Now the cause is on Riobet's side, but it is a simple one. Every method has a minimum and a maximum per operation. Put in less than the minimum (10 $/€) or more than the ceiling for your chosen method and the payment will not go through - that is not a bug, it is a rule.
What to do. Check the limits of your chosen method in the cashier and adjust the amount. Want to put in a large sum and you hit the maximum - either split it into several deposits, or switch to a method with a higher ceiling (often that is crypto). The minimum is much the same everywhere - 10 $/€.
Cause 5. The account is waiting on verification
Sometimes the cashier will not let a payment through until you have confirmed your identity. This is not nit-picking: the Curaçao Gaming Authority licence obliges the operator to verify players (KYC), and at certain stages that check blocks operations until the data is confirmed.
What to do. Look in your profile - it shows whether verification has been requested and which documents are missing. Do KYC straight away: passport and proof of address, once. The sooner you close this formality, the fewer surprises both on the deposit and, more importantly, on the first withdrawal. How to pass it first time is covered in the KYC guide.
Cause 6. A technical glitch - rare, but it happens
The last cause is a plain temporary glitch: on the payment provider's side, the gateway or the network. It happens less than all the others, but you cannot write it off. The sign is a method that worked yesterday silently bouncing the payment today with no clear error.
What to do. Do not hammer the payment ten times in a row - that way you can catch several "holds" at once. Wait 10-15 minutes and try again, or with another method. Did not help - to support (24/7 live chat), which is on hand around the clock. Attach a screenshot of the error and the time of the operation, that speeds up the review.
FAQ
When the money left but the balance is empty
-
The money left my account but is not on the balance. Is it gone?
Almost certainly not. If the payment is declined, the debit is a temporary "hold" that returns to the card automatically within a few days. If the payment did go through but the balance is empty, check the transaction status and write to support with the receipt or transaction hash.
-
Should I repeat the payment straight after a decline?
Once is fine, after waiting for 3DS. But do not launch the payment many times in a row: you can catch several holds at once. If two attempts in a row are bounced, the cause is systemic - check the bank limit and switch the method to a wallet or crypto.
-
Why does the card work in shops but not at the casino?
A number of banks have a separate policy for transactions that look like gambling: ordinary purchases go through, but a payment like this is blocked. The bank decides that, not the casino. The most reliable way around it is a wallet or crypto, where the issuing bank takes no part in the operation.
-
Could not having passed verification be the cause?
Yes, at certain stages the cashier may not let operations through until your identity is confirmed. Look in your profile: if KYC is requested, do it - passport and proof of address. It is a one-time procedure, and it lifts the block on both the deposit and a future withdrawal.
